Easy Chicory Root Coffee Recipe

This easy chicory coffee recipe is hot, creamy, and delicious – not to mention full of amazing health benefits.


  • 1 tbsp roasted chicory root granules
  • 1.5 C filtered water
  • 1/2 C milk of choice
  • 1 tsp of choice natural sweetener: maple syrup, raw honey, coconut sugar, stevia, xylitol (from birch), monk fruit syrup, etc.
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon


  • Bring water to a low boil and add the chicory granules. Allow to steep for 5 minutes.
  • While the chicory is brewing, steam your milk of choice in a small sauce pan. Do not allow to boil or scald.
  • Strain the chicory coffee using a fine mesh strainer and divide into two mugs.
  • Add the sweetener to your desired taste.
  • Add the milk to each mug and then froth using an immersion blender or milk frother.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon & serve!


You can use a French press if you prefer, or even a coffee pot to brew the chicory. If you desire caffeine, you can add some regular coffee.
