In my last post, I talked about the new doc’s “non-negotiables” and decided to mention two of them here:
- dealing with dental work
- proper testing
My Big Fat Mouth…
One of the first things the new doc said to me was that a large percentage of cancers can be traced back to the mouth. It was imperative to her that I see what’s known as a biological dentist to deal with any infections, root canals, and/or mercury fillings. Had this been my first exposure to such a notion, I probably would have scoffed. But actually, several doctors interviewed on The Truth About Cancer talked about this very thing. In addition, I had come across other reliable sources who all believed the same. In fact, I remember one doctor saying that some cancer patients would continue to have their cancer return until they finally dealt with their dental work. I must have filed that away in my mind, but as I HATE (despise, fear, dread) going to the dentist, and feared the cost, I kept putting it off.
When I think about it now, however, it makes perfect sense. All of the Vitamin C in the world is not going to fix your immune system, if you have a constant bacterial or viral load pushing it back. Getting to the heart of the problem makes sense to me in all areas of life – spiritually, emotionally, practically, and physically.
I ended up seeing a wonderful biological dentist in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida by the name of Yolanda Cintron, D.M.D. One of her first questions to me was “Have you ever had a root canal?” When I told her I had one on my upper right side, she asked if it was on the same side as the breast cancer. “Yes.” was my reply.
Again, I will spare you all of the gory details, but suffice it to say, I had a huge infection in my gums surrounding the root canal. In fact, I had a five-hour surgery and the infection went as far as the bone (but thankfully didn’t require any bone grafts). While I was sedated, Dr. Cintron also removed two tiny mercury fillings. She also sends the root canal tooth out for DNA testing to determine exactly the type of bacteria surrounding it.
Dr. Cintron has a staff member take pictures of everything they find and do during surgery and eagerly wanted to share it with me the next day. I hated to disappoint them, but I’m a little queasy when it comes to my own body, blood, gore, and the like, so I merely stated “I..I..I trust you. I can’t stomach seeing those pictures right now.” The poor tech looked so disappointed. But this snowflake just couldn’t handle it. (At least I know my own limitations.)
Since my early diagnosis, I have been going to an extremely skilled lymphatic therapist named Terri Bishop-Brahen (MA22716) with Therapeutic Touch of Ponte Vedra, Inc. (MM8630) (http://www.ttouchpv.com). After my initial appointment with Dr. Cintron, Terri could not believe the difference in my body. She said that before I went to Dr. Cintron, she felt a lot of fluid in and around my neck, and even in my ankles and feet. After the dental work, Terri told me my neck was back to normal and commented that even the fluid in my ankles and feet had gone down to one-quarter what it had been. Terri said that she believed the dental infection was really wreaking havoc on my body, and I completely agree.
I believe that my immune system will finally be able to do its job now that I’m not fighting a constant infection in my gums. I’ve had no ill side effects from the dental work and bounced back so quickly, though my work was extensive.
Check out this book for a detailed scientific explanation of the dangers of root canals and how they are linked with a plethora of health conditions.
Here are a couple of articles that touch on the link between dental health and overall health. The first article is a “must read” in my opinion.

Proper Testing…
This post turned out a little longer than I anticipated, so I’ll talk about testing in the next one. Stay tuned!
